After his 3D rendering of a cloud-like armchair went viral on social media last year, Argentinian designer Andrés Reisinger has made the Hortensia chair a reality with the help of 20,000 fabric petals.
After a year of research and development, the first real version of the Hortensia chair is on display at the Montoya (@pasajemontoya) gallery in Barcelona. Read more on @dezeen

,ALIVE’’ is a dynamic object based on biophilic design principles. Biophilia is the innate tendency of a person to seek a connection with nature, other forms of life, or just love for the living. The design object is based on research that rhythm or movement in nature creates a strong impression and a positive impact on the person. The most important thing in the work is the expression of the movement and the emotion. Designer was inspired by the water - the basis and source of all life.
,ALIVE’’ is designed for public interiors, offices or various public spaces where people spend most of their time. This object is created to provide the vitality of the environment and to remind and nurture Mother Nature.

Designed by Anna Kulachek and manufactured at Khokhlomskaya Rospis factory, Half&Hohloma tells a different story of the most famous and oversaturated pattern-painting Khokhloma, traditionally made on a sound lacquered wooden objects using gold plating and other techniques.
HALF&Hohloma plates are made of pressed wood flakes - an eco-friendly and deformation resistant material. After polishing the plates are then primed with oil varnish, then coated with aluminium powder, making them silvery.
Then follows the painting process by the hands of experienced master craftsmen. After drying the plates are coated with a few layers of lacquer and this is how silver turns into khokhloma gold.
The Art of Design returns to take you beyond blueprints into the art, science, and philosophy of design. A portrait of Inna, muse, artist and designer.
Ukranian-born and Berlin-based, Inna draws on her life, the people she meets, the places she visits and the world around her, to create simple jewellery in bold, timeless metal, precious and semi-precious stones.
From the Brutalism of the Soviet-style architecture she remembers from her childhood, to the rhythms of modern-day Berlin and Paris, Inna develops her identity.
In her subterranean Berlin workshop, she designs and hand crafts her pieces. From conception to creation, designing to finishing, Inna focuses on simplicity, luxury and realizing the hidden potential of form, immortalizing memories and moments in metal. From one-off bespoke pieces, including engagement and wedding rings to complete collections, she sells online, in selected outlets worldwide and has been exhibited at Paris Fashion Week for four consecutive years.

This is the Vision Mercedes Simplex concept, and it will never be put into production. The Simplex pays homage to the first ever car to wear the Mercedes name – the Mercedes 35 HP (or 35 PS in German) from 1901. The 35 was developed at the request of wealthy businessman and occasional racer Emil Jellinek, and was the first car to move away from the traditional high-riding motorised carriage design.
“A 2019 graduate of the Royal College of Art's MA in Design Products, Giovannoni designed the soft silicone headphones to improve upon current bone-conduction audio technology.”
Like other bone-conduction headphones on the market, his design bypasses the eardrum and conveys sound as vibrations through the bones of the skull, directly to the cochlea — the "hearing" part of the inner ear.
Unlike any other device on the market, it does so via waterproof speakers that are fully immersed in liquid and then sealed in a pliable membrane. This membrane sits against a person's skin, transmitting sound vibrations through touch.

We’ve been following Lee’s carrier path since his debut on London Design scene more than 10 years ago. Attracted by the way he works with light and materials we can’t skip his recent milestone “a whirlwind tour of the Indo Pacific with Space Furniture, his exclusive retailer in Australia, touching down in Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand“
“And so 2019 marks Lee Broom’s second visit to Australia, and the Park Life installation sees it become an unforgettable moment in time for all”
“Conceptually, Park Life draws on the very British history of the Pleasure Garden, at its most popular in the 18th century. According to Lee, they were typically places for the aristocracy and the middle class to see music, art, fashion and dine and drink. Like an architectural display, they were designed with miniature waterways, mazes and pagodas. Although it was a period of high culture they became infamous for facilitating debauchery.” - continue reading on @habitusliving

Just in time when “Quantified Self” trend is trying to excuse the brutal data harvest from leading smart accessories - here come the solution to take an ease in sharing all of your personal details (including blood cells rate) to the unknown. Welcome award-winning minimalist analogue watches created by the fellows of our creative industry - Anton Repponen and his Brooklyn based studio ANTON&IRENE
After winning the Red Dot Award in 2010 for best concept, and many years of creating digital products for a variety of clients such as The Met, USAToday, Spotify, Balenciaga, Google and Netflix, Anton & Irene decided to make the leap into product design and produce the analog NU:RO watch themselves.
The watch has two dials, one with hours at the top and the other with minutes at the bottom. When they rotate the current time is shown inside the hourglass. The watch has been manufactured in a limited edition of 500, and can be purchased through the studio’s Kickstarter campaign until October 10th, after which, they will be gone forever.
The studio has also collaborated with the artist Shantell Martin for a limited edition release of 10 original hand drawn artworks.
It's been a while since our last post in "Cars" flow and we really like to keep it clean for beautiful examples of automotive industry. Here is another eye-catching sample worth for being outside, near the beach.
Marking the 60th anniversary since the unveiling of the first special edition car based on the model 500 - the 500 Jolly, known as "Spiaggina," Fiat showcased their new limited edition of the latest Fiat 500. Called the Fiat 500 Spiaggina ’58, the new model is limited to 1958 units. A number which is an homage to the year Fiat showcased the original 500 Jolly, a car adored by rich and famous of the time.
The changes Garage Italia made to the Fiat 500C in an effort to convert the car into a true Spiaggina are, frankly, astounding. The job was so work-intense and perilous that Garage Italia partnered with famed Pininfarina to bring the job to a close. With their expertise in the creation of show cars, Pininfarina and Garage Italia came up with a 500 featuring a lowered windscreen, a rollover bar instead of a roof and only two seats.
Saint-Petersburg-based designer Yaroslav Misonzhnikov shares his recent work - nixie-tube clocks on marble and wood platforms commissioned by Past Indicator brand.
All of their clocks have nixie tubes, that were popular in the USSR era. While working on the new design of the clock, Yaroslav was inspired by an architectural element — diamond-pointed rustication. The clock, that was named Saturn-5 is made of natural marble and is serially manufactured.
While some populists use "There is no Planet B" phrase without real input, guys from Amsterdam went further to prove the actual meaning behind that saying as "Start it from yourself". As we tried to think of "..Planet B" from visual perspective during our Digital Decade 4, in 2016, nearly in the same time GUM-TEC created the backward process to extract actual rubber from chewing gum (yes, it is no more an eco-tree rubber). Later on they were baked by Amsterdam official "I AmSterdam" municipal group and asked designers from EXPLICIT to come back with a pair of recycled sneakers "Gumshoe". Real shoes are ready for pre-order now
Gum Drop Bin was an actual diploma of Gumshoe designer Anna Bullus at Brighton Uni, UK
