"Reuben Wu (previously) uses long exposure techniques to capture light traces formed by a moving drone equipped with a lighting rig. In his latest group of images the paths create illuminated symbols such as a square, plus sign, and triangle from straight, narrow lines. The shapes hover just above the horizon with an abstracted reflection projected in the water below."

The project is an evolution of his ongoing Lux Noctis series which focuses on specific light paths, rather than entire illuminated landscapes. The plus and minus symbols were shot over the Pacific Ocean at night, while the square and triangle were captured over the bright blue waters of Lake Michigan.

Worth Its Weight in Gold by Dillon Marsh
South African photographer Dillon Marsh has created ‘Gold’: his fourth project (previously) that utilizes CGI techniques as part of the photographic series titled ‘For What It’s Worth’.
"The series explores a significant part of South Africa’s history; the mining of natural resources such as copper, gold, and diamonds, and the effect this has had on the land over time. In ‘Gold’, Marsh uses CGI to create a scale model of the total amount of gold extracted from each of the seven Witwatersrand Basin goldfields. For context, the Witwatersrand Basin is a geological formation responsible for almost half the world’s gold reserves. Marsh’s enormous gold spheres are juxtaposed against the land from which the gold is produced. The result is a poignant series of photographic images that speak loudly about our capitalistic demand for gold." via iGNANT

Within 15 Minutes - The average time between twins when they are born
Alma Haser has always found identical twins fascinating, as do most people. It is the incredible realisation that there are two versions of the exact same person, hard to tell apart, unless they wear different clothes or hairstyles. They often finish each other's sentences, as they are one and the same person.
Monozygotic or identical twins occur when a single egg is fertilized to form one zygote which then divides into two separate embryos. Monozygotic twins are genetically almost identical. Identical twins do not have the same fingerprints because, even in the confines of the womb, the foetuses touch different parts of this environment, creating small variations in the same fingerprint and therefore making each of them unique.
Alma photographed sets of identical twins and made them into identical jigsaw pussies. She then swaps every other piece of their puzzles, completely mixing them half and half. Not always knowing where their eyes, mouths and lips would end up, the result is a pair of eerie, unrecognisable portraits. No longer seen as completely identical, they are unique.

“Now it feels like your digital self is more important then the reality. Most of us spend the majority of the day checking our phones and laptops and this digital experience will get even more immersive with future developments of augmented and virtual reality. We’ve also seen the creation of robot Sophia by Hanson Robotics in 2015 – [the] first AI with more than 50 facial expressions – and the ability of recognising faces thanks to the computer algorithms. This connection to digital reality and modern progress was a big inspiration for me.”

Part art, part architecture, it was developed under the auspices of elit® Vodka, a platinum, award-winning premium vodka, and unveiled at Wallpaper* Handmade’s “Wellness & Wonder” exhibition during Milan Design Week 2018, taking centre stage in the Mediateca Santa Teresa, an 18th century baroque church turned into digital library."

Tarek Mawad and Friedrich van Schoor, also known as collective 3hund are two german artists, sharing the same passion for nature, adventure and dark melancholic images. They teamed up with electronic composer Achim “Künstler” Treu, a.k.a. UFO Hawai, to create "LUCID". A surreal world based on simple geometric light shapes that seem misplaced, but somehow blend with its surrounding at the same time.
"The idea was to create a surreal world based on simple geometric light shapes that seem misplaced, but somehow blend with its surrounding at the same time. Shapes that emphasize the mood of its surrounding in the most simple way. By installing electroluminescent light shapes and wires in untouched landscapes, a single lightsource tells a surreal story of magic and loneliness in a surreal and intense way. Every environment has its own light installation.
The intention was to summarize all installations in a cinematographic way to create a touching short film"

The Immaculate Renovation of Redondo Building in Coimbra
"Picturesquely built upon a hillside on the east bank of the Rio Mondego, the Portuguese city of Coimbra is known for its university, the oldest academic institution in the Portuguese-speaking world, but its charm lies in its kaleidoscopic architecture that features a mixture of buildings spanning nearly a millennium. Part of this historical spectrum is the “Redondo”, a four-storey terraced house built at the beginning of the 20th century which has been thoroughly renovated by Portuguese architects João Branco and Paula del Río of Branco-Delrio Arquitectos and artfully photographed by Lisbon-based architectural photographers do mal o menos."

Jenna Rose Marti is a Milwaukee, Wisconsin based digital artist and photographer. She works within installation and digital photography to explore themes of identity, religion, memory, and escapism.
Though her work, she creates a sense of escapism in order to find comfort in the unfamiliar while revealing the discomfort in the familiar. The surreal nature of her work creates a sense of fantasy that exists within the familiarity of the physical world, and seeks the balance of the good and the evil in life. She pulls from her own experience with religion, personal relationships with people, and other worldly experiences to create this dialogue.
