A Million Times at Changi

A Million Times at Changi, commissioned by Changi Airport Group, was conceived in 2014 and installed in January 2018 in Terminal 2. It is part of Humans since 1982's A million Times project (2013-ongoing).

A Million Times at Changi is one of the biggest kinetic sculptures in the world and with its 7,5m amplitude has a 'clock face' that is wider than that of London’s Big Ben (7m). 

Each of the 1008 clock-hands (504-minute hands and 504-hour hands) are fitted with individual motors, giving the kinetic sculpture the ability to show various patterns, as well as the time and greetings in various languages across different times of the day

Yana & JUN met in 2007 and soon started creating Art as kittozutto in 2008. Their creation, through the juxtaposition of their art and life, acts as a parallel universe of their creative & romantic partnership. They are fascinated about the beauty in strangeness resulted from the connections between seemingly unrelated subjects. The resulting tension, by enforcing the subjects to coexist within the same canvas, creates an awkward beauty, in which many of their works aim to seek.

Joyce Wang’s Hong Kong Restaurant Named World’s Best Interior of 2014

"At the INSIDE World Festival of Interiors, Joyce Wang‘s MOTT32 bar and restaurant in Hong Kong was officially named the best interior space of 2014. Located in a former storage facility, which reportedly once housed expensive family heirlooms for wealthy Chinese immigrants, MOTT32 is best described as an atmospheric underworld dining experience. Taking inspiration from the heritage of the site, the restaurant is filled with forgotten heirlooms, Chinese propaganda and industrial materials doubling as furniture and light fittings. Located underground, with no natural light, Joyce Wang embraced the constraints of the venue and used them to create a theatrical and exclusive experience. Delicate detailing was combined with raw materials, such as concrete and metals, to create an overall bold design that sees Western and Eastern influences come together." via Highsnobiety

Time is a Dimension by Fong Qi Wei

For Singapore-based artist Fong Qi Wei photography is a medium. His recent project Time is a Dimensions is a story about landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes. They are a single composite made from sequences that span 2-4 hours, mostly of sunrises and sunsets.

Hyper Realism in a bowl by Keng Lye

Singapore-based artist Keng Lye meticulously produces three-dimensional works of art with acrylics and epoxy resin that lie somewhere between painting and sculpture. Using a technique originated by Riusuke Fukahori, Lye manages to produce the illusion of different animals swimming in water. The time-consuming process involves pouring resin into a bowl and then painting on top of it with acrylics, layer by layer. (via MMN)
